Acupuncture at Центр семейного здоровья Silver Avenue а также Центр здоровья Potrero Hill
The practice of acupuncture and Chinese medicine dates back 5000 years. Records indicate that through the practice of qi gong and meditation, practitioners discovered a network of pathways that circulate qi and blood through the body. As acupuncture theory developed, it was discovered that specific points along a channel pathway have particular effects on that channel and its related organ. By safely placing needles at specific sites in the body, acupuncture can regulate and support the heart-mind and body.
Doctors of Chinese medicine evaluate the health of a patient through inquiry of signs and symptoms, palpation (including pulse diagnosis) and observation (including tongue diagnosis). Once a diagnosis is made, the practitioner can treat using the five branches of Chinese Medicine: acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, meditation and exercise.
At the Healing Project, expect to spend 1 to 1¼ hour for an acupuncture session. Patients will receive a comprehensive intake followed by acupuncture and holistic health recommendations by your licensed practitioner. Approximately, 6-14 small disposable acupuncture needles will be placed in the body according to your specific diagnosis and treatment principals. Patients will then have the opportunity to rest for 30-40 minutes while the treatment encourages the heart-mind, and body to return to its natural state of peace and equilibrium.
Yoga at Центр семейного здоровья Silver Avenue
The postures and breathing exercises covered in class build strength, flexibility, and balance while prioritizing safety and rejuvenation. All classes begin with short meditation and end with Savasana or deep relaxation. Gentle classes are open to anyone seeking time to heal. The postures in these classes will primarily be a yin practice allowing students to stay longer in each pose and ideally maintain a steady breath and heart rate.
Healing Environments
Part of The Healing Project includes working towards creating environments that are conducive to healing. This refers to both the clinic experience and also the larger environment.
At each clinic we emphasize patient experience by transforming the rooms with healing lights, music, ambiance, and temperature. Additionally, we play wellness movies in the waiting rooms and have installed murals and gardens at the entrance of our buildings.
Environmentally, the Healing Project is focused on utilizing modalities that have a lighter impact on the planet. Our environment effects our health and we work toward creating a model of health care that is sustainable for the future.
